{Bridgeport, WV} – Canna-Ventures of West Virginia, LLC is proud to announce the opening of
West Virginia’s 1st premier industrial hemp sub-critical CO2 extraction facility. Canna-Ventures
multimillion-dollar facility will utilize CO2 extraction methods Generally Regarded as Safe
(GRAS) by the United States FDA to produce full spectrum 2014 Farm Bill compliant cannabidiol
crude oil, distillate and isolate for the production of Medical, Health & Beauty, Food and Pet
products containing cannabidiol (CBD) derived from industrial Hemp grown here in the State of
West Virginia. Canna-Ventures will also be formalizing contractual extraction arrangements for
Hops, Lavender and other essential oils for the Health & Beauty industry.
Our 7500 SF processing facility will employee several local professional WV residents who will
work in this emerging market. Jonathon Marks, President of Canna-Ventures has his sights set
on a much larger footprint. “I want to create a total seed to sale supply chain associated with
the growing, harvesting, drying and processing of industrial hemp and other beneficial
cultivars”, Marks says. This hemp plant has a remarkable natural ability to create and promote
homeostasis (maintain internal stability) working directly with our body’s own endocannabinoid
system. Mounting medical research continues to support evidence that when used properly,
Cannabidiol (CBD) derived from the Hemp plant, may help reduce inflammation thus reducing
chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity and interacting with
neurotransmitters. Marks encourages individuals to educate themselves to the many benefits
of full spectrum cannabidiol and incorporate them into their daily health routine.
Having worked closely with the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, West Virginia Farmers’
Cooperative and under the regulations set forth within the State of West Virginia’s Industrial
Hemp Act, and Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill, Canna-Ventures expects to begin operations
NLT November 15, 2018 reaching optimal peak processing in time for the 2018 harvest taking
place throughout WV. We see this as an opportunity to bring hemp to the forefront of
agriculture production here in West Virginia. Our farmers can utilize unproductive land to grow
a crop that benefits their land through the building of organic matter and sequestering carbon,
thus improving soil properties. “We can teach our wonderful rural farmers how to grow and
harvest hemp, taking it straight from field to production, generating immediate above average
per acreage income. It’s a game changer!” Marks says.
