Ramp Pesto: in food processor combine equal parts ramps, garlic mustard, chickweed and your favorite fresh greens (spinach, basil, etc.) with a dash of sea salt, pepper, garlic cloves to taste, almonds, cashews or pine nuts, splash of favorite hot sauce or sprinkle of cayenne, olive oil to blend!

Cedar Lane Farm and owner Dave Hawkins is a proud member of the United Plant Savers, Stewards of Healing Herbs. As demand for medicinal herbs has grown over the past few years in America, so have issues with shortages and habitat destruction. Through research, education and conservation efforts, United Plant Savers works “to protect native medicinal plants of the United States and Canada and their native habitat while ensuring an abundant renewable supply of medicinal plants for generations to come.” For at-risk species, United Plant Savers has developed a unique “Adopt an Herb” program in which sponsors commit to a five-year== sponsorship of one of the 20 native medicinal plants on their at-risk list.
